At WalkMe, we recognize the importance of protecting customer personal information and are committed to processing it responsibly. That means being in compliance with applicable data protection laws in all countries in which WalkMe operates.

In an evolving world of privacy compliance, and following the CJEU ruling on the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Program, it is required to maintain a mechanism to demonstrate organization-wide international privacy compliance that aligns with established privacy principles.

WalkMe and TrustArc

WalkMe, the digital adoption pioneer, is proud to announce we have selected TrustArc to demonstrate our ongoing compliance and effective privacy governance with the Verified International Privacy Assessment Seal. Certification is based on a comprehensive set of requirements governing data privacy management practices as outlined in the Verified International Privacy Assessment Criteria. TrustArc certifications are managed by TRUSTe LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of TrustArc. As a component of the certification, TrustArc is also providing WalkMe with an independent dispute resolution service to address privacy-related questions around customer data from users and ongoing access to privacy guidance.

“WalkMe is pleased to partner with TrustArc to demonstrate our international privacy practices,” said Daniel Chechik, Chief Information Security Officer at WalkMe. “We are committed to validating and certifying our customer privacy protocols via an ongoing independent external review audit of our internal and external practices, policies, and procedures.”

WalkMe worked with TrustArc to review and verify that its data privacy management practices comply with standards that are aligned with the TrustArc Verified International Privacy Assessment Program. By achieving the TRUSTe Enterprise Certification, WalkMe proudly demonstrates its commitment to strong data privacy practices and enhancing customer and business partner trust.

TrustE certification process

The TRUSTe certification follows a three-phase process, using a combination of experienced privacy analysts, proven assessment methodology, and the TrustArc Privacy Platform.

Phase I includes a comprehensive review of the participant’s privacy practices against the TRUSTe privacy standards and the creation of a detailed privacy findings report.

Phase II includes a review of the findings by TrustArc with the participant, implementation by the participant of remediation recommendations, and documentation of action item completion.

Phase III includes certification activation including issuing the TRUSTe Seal, providing dispute resolution services, and providing access to TrustArc Assessment Manager to support ongoing privacy compliance.

TRUSTe monitors ongoing compliance through annual recertifications and complaints received through the Privacy Feedback mechanism.

Security as a top priority

WalkMe believes that a strong international privacy management program is critical for global companies to build customer trust and ensure international privacy compliance. By receiving this certification, WalkMe shows our continued dedication to meeting the highest privacy standards.
