WalkMe’s Zoom Tutorial Leaves No Stone Unturned

Only a few short months ago, video conferencing was primarily used for conducting work meetings. But today, it’s quickly become the new norm for social interactions, like catching up with family and friends.

Many of us may be familiar with Zoom, but there are a number of people – like your parents – who are using Zoom for the first time. WalkMe identified this need and saw an opportunity to help first-time Zoom users through a free Zoom Self Help Center by WalkMe chrome extension. 

WalkMe as a guide to new software and technology 

The idea of WalkMe was conceived when the mother of one of WalkMe’s co-founders was having difficulty using a bank website. She would call her son asking countless questions, and he would guide her through the system. WalkMe CEO and co-founder Dan Adika thought that there should be a way for people, like his colleague’s mother, to easily navigate a website and receive guidance to complete business processes.

WalkMe has since developed into a digital adoption platform for enterprise companies that adapts software to the needs of the users, including in-app and cross-app guidance, process automation, contextual engagement for on-demand support and insights and analytics into overall software usage and behavior.

Zoom is today’s way to connect

Similar to how WalkMe first began, the idea to build a free Zoom extension came from WalkMe’s own employees who understand how challenging it can be to use new and unfamiliar enterprise systems. With the new reality of working from home and learning from home, as well as the desire to stay connected to family at an all time high, WalkMe employees set out to create an easy to understand guide so that their loved ones could master Zoom – anytime, anywhere.


A help button unlocks Zoom tutorials with step-by-step guidance to initiate meetings, download Zoom for desktop, add a virtual background, record meetings and more. WalkMe’s self-help widget is there to provide the right answer exactly at the time it’s required, without having to open additional search windows.

Additionally, the WalkMe employees came together to translate the guides into seven different languages, English, Hebrew, Italian, Spanish, French, Japanese and Chinese, so that separated families across the globe can connect with ease.

Technology should be accessible to everyone

Since social distancing has entered our vocabulary, human connection and interaction is now more important than ever. Technological acumen should not prevent colleagues, friends and family members from communicating. Zoom Help Center by WalkMe is a small contribution that speaks to our vision of bridging the gap between humans and technology, so everyone can connect.
