Today I am proud to formally announce that I have joined the WalkMe team to spearhead their HR Line of Business globally. Having spent over 12 years in HR tech, most notably at ADP, NGA and SAP-SuccessFactors, I wanted to share with you why I am so excited by the possibilities this gem has to offer the world.

For far too long, we have spent our energy on functional and ideological battles. The battleground as we see it is quite simple; it is about the value of adoption in driving better performance. I learned this in my most recent role as the HR Transformation Lead.

WalkMe is redefining how enterprises, employees, consumers engage with technology. It solves the HOW question in technology. This is a bold but true statement.

Think how profound a problem statement that is.

HR technology strategy

For the past decade, the race that everyone has been consumed by has been one of functionality, integration points and user experience. The advent of the cloud forced us to rethink the software delivery paradigm. However, we now need to accept that we have not been so successful in the rethinking of the software adoption paradigm. THE underlying problem is ‘how do I get my users, my employees, my managers, my customers and my consumers to adopt and use the technology to get a better outcome whilst driving cost out of the business’.

The elephant in the room is ‘how do we realize the value of the investments we have made in technology and the ongoing innovations to bridge the execution gap between an organization’s business strategy and the desired results that stock markets rely on for EPS calculations’.

WalkMe Plays a Pivotal Role

This is not about saying one HR application is better than another but realizing that not all end users are equal in terms of proficiency. This is about the HOW.

This customer pain point excites me not purely because of the business-economic benefits it addresses but more significantly the human aspects of improved performance of the workforce. I truly believe that if we can help the workforce to be more successful then the knock-on benefits to their families will be terrific.

To have any chance of success would require a team of passionate, relentless individuals who believe in creating and defining the future. Spend five minutes reading up on WalkMe, dive into their numerous industry awards they have, look on Glassdoor or better yet visit a WalkMe office and you cannot help but be consumed by the energy and sense of purpose the team has.

The next phase in the cloud journey must be centered on helping them get sustainable, continuous value from what was defined in the RFP. There has been so very little innovation around change management, user adoption, onboarding, etc. Over the years that when a platform like WalkMe comes along – you can’t help be stop and think of the possibilities.

Gartner predicts that through 2018, only 25% of organizations will fully address business change in their digital transformation projects and 75% of organizations will fail to achieve expected business outcomes. Our mission is how we help organizations address this and at scale.

I see my role in very simple terms. My primary focus will be to see how I can help leverage and magnify the incredible passion and energy that this team has. Together we will build a proposition where customers will not merely win – but excel, where employees do not merely tick the box – but leverage technology in a manner that improves job performance and translates economically in how they are recognized for doing their jobs. In short, we will help organizations execute on the promise of business execution.

On a personal note, I would like to thank the WalkMe leadership team for their trust and faith in me. It is not everyday that a boy from Singapore gets to chart the future. To my ecosystem who have stood by me in their support, I wish to say that we have found a way to ensure that the customer will win. And, to my family, thank you for the support and reminder of why I wake up every morning.

You cannot imagine how pumped up I am.
