Kazuhisa Takeya, Director of Sales, Japan
When I first joined WalkMe, I was part of the Sales team, focused on connecting customers with a product I believed in. Over time, my role evolved in unexpected ways, not only in title but in impact. I became increasingly drawn to building systems, shaping teams, and helping define how we worked as an organization.
That growth led to one of the biggest turning points in my career: my promotion to manager. It was a milestone that reflected more than performance. It was about trust. The company saw potential in me and gave me the support and autonomy to lead, solve challenges, and collaborate with global teams. That support shaped who I am today.

The moment everything clicked
One moment I will never forget is closing my first Enterprise License Agreement. That deal was not just about revenue. It was proof that customers in Japan were beginning to understand the value of Digital Adoption Platforms. Being part of that shift and helping to grow awareness in the Japanese market is something I am deeply proud of.
It felt like we were doing something bigger than selling software. We were creating understanding around something entirely new.
Creating the market, together
Why have I stayed at WalkMe for six years? Because I believe we are building the market ourselves. Every day I feel a strong sense of purpose and fulfillment. There is still so much more I want to do, and so much potential ahead. Not only for me, but for the impact we can make on our customers.
What makes this possible is WalkMe’s culture of agility and encouragement. Even as a smaller team in Japan, we are empowered to challenge the status quo, take ownership, and get the support we need quickly and flexibly. That mindset has only strengthened my motivation to serve our customers with everything I have.
Looking ahead
In the next 5 to 10 years, I see myself becoming a true expert in helping customers leverage generative AI. The possibilities are immense, and I’m excited to be part of that transformation. I want to continue growing side by side with my colleagues, who inspire me daily, and keep achieving meaningful success as a team.
How would I summarize my WalkMe journey? I played a part in creating the DAP market.
And that’s something I’ll always be proud of.
